The investment construction project “Long Son Industrial Service Port” was previously slated to begin construction in 2018 and be completed in 2019
Main Services of Long Son port: port services, mechanical work, production of liquefied petroleum gas cylinders, industrial gases, trading gas products, manufacturing prestressed concrete piles to support civil & industrial development in the province and neighboring areas, especially oil and gas industry, civil construction….. Long Son Industrial Service Port project is located in Ba Ria- Vung Tau Province, biggest gas and oil center in Vietnam and adjacent to Long Son petrochemical complex, national key oil and gas project.
With the location nearby the biggest petroleum fuel consumption market of Vietnam (Southern market) which takes 60% of needs and adjacent to Long Son petrochemical complex, Long Son Industrial Service Port obtained the following advantage form the location of project is:
- Advantageous in transportation in both domestic and international seaway transportation for crude import and products distribution
- All utilities are available at fence of the refinery with favorable fee that applied to other projects in area
- Capable to share some common facilities with Southern Petrochemical Complex such as: marine facility, power generation, other utilities and technical services
- Strongly supported by Vietnamese Government and Petrovietnam
- Rapidly increased demand of the petroleum products in Vietnam. As officially forecasted, the average growth of fuel consumption in Vietnam up to 2025 shall be 6.7% per annual. Vietnam should import around 11 million tons of petroleum products in 2015 and 13.6 million tons in 2020.
According to decision No. 3327/QD-BGTVT of Ministry Of Transport of Vietnam about “Approval for detailed planning for seaports in the southeast (group 5) by 2020 and the orientation towards 2030”, Vung Tau seaport is a national and international gateway general seaport (class IA), which consists of the following main functional wharf areas: Go Dau and Tac Ca Trung wharf areas; Phu My and My Xuan wharf areas; Cai Mep and Sao Mai-Ben Dinh wharf areas; Long Son wharf area; Vung Tau - Dinh river and Con Dao wharf areas. In which, Long Son wharf area: This area functions as a special-use wharf area of the petrochemical complex having a terminal to receive crude oil for ships of 300,000 DWT and a wharf of between 30,000 and 50,000 DWT for import of other materials and export of products. The southeastern coastline section of the area will be reserved for building a general wharf for long term development of the region.
Long Son Industrial Service Port location is the gateway in the Northwest of the Long Son island, easy conect to the inland waterway ports, that has been planned in the area by government. The investment construction project “Long Son Industrial Service Port” will contribute to complete the technical infrastructure of the region accordance with the approved plan by the government, so the project is on track, according to the master plan on the seaport group in Southeast Vietnam.
Moreover Long Son Industrial Service Port is the first private port participate in this market, the Port has maintained comparatively good relations with reputed contractors in the field of industrial and oil and gas in Vietnam such as: PetroVietNam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC), Petroleum Equipment Assembly & Metal Structure (PVC MS)….
